The Great Unknown: Texas

So! Exactly one week ago, my father and i set out from memphis and drove 11 hours (stopping only for gas, mind you) to Houston Tx, my new home. It's been a craaazy week trying to get settled, but i think i've done pretty well. I've met the five other girls in my program, and they're all awesomely awesome. My apartment is beyond cool. The city is a literal treasure trove of adventure, what with libraries, odd restaurants, and public transportation to be explored. I've even begun to participate in a church (thanks for the recommendation, Stuart!)

All in all, it's been a good experience for me so far. definitely lots to learn, but i feel a great swell of excitement from living in a new city all by myself.

more updates along the way...once i get internet access in my apartment (my next battle).

Gina! So there was this girl @ dcf on Sunday and when I saw the back of her head, my heart jumped as I started to call out your name. Just then she turned around, and it wasn't you. Sad day :-( I felt justified when Rachel told me she thought it was you, too. We were devastated, really...

And, yes feel free to call me this weekend. I'd love to hear how you are doing.

"Awesomely awesome"? And that is why I miss you, Gina.
