The Olympics

Okay, I have to admit: I've always been a huge fan of the summer Olympics. I love watching all the random sports (ie, women's handball, which I'm currently watching) and the well-known ones. I love seeing all the countries on our planet. I love the feeling of patriotism when Team USA does awesomely. I even love the cheesy inspiring Visa commercials with the Morgan Freeman voice overs.

But my FAVORITE part of the Olympics is the Opening ceremonies. I adore all the ceremony and national pride of the host nation as they invite the rest of the world to join them for this awesome event. Last night was the opening ceremony in Beijing. I cannot describe the absolutely stunning performance of the ceremonies. It was, quite simply, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Over 15,000 performers delivered perfect execution of dancing, painting, drumming, and singing that traced the history of China. If you missed it...I truly pity you.

I can't find any decent pictures of the ceremony to put up here. Sorry :( .
